Training

When we refer to training, we are usually referring to the training that we do at the local Corps.

Training is broken down into two components: Mandatory and Optional.

Mandatory Training

Mandatory training is training that all army cadets must complete across the country.  That way when the cadets go for summer training the staff can be sure that the training a cadet received at our Corps is the same training that a cadet in Prince George, BC received.

Compnents of mandatory training include:

  • Citizenship
  • Physical Fitness
  • Leadership
  • Instructional Techniques
  • Public Speaking
  • Bushcraft and Expedition
  • Marksmanship
  • Navigation

Optional Training

Optional training is what makes each cadet Corps unique.  It is training that the corps does above and beyond the mandatory training and is custumized to the local area and what is available to the corps.

Components of Mandatory training can include:

  • Orienteering
  • Biathlon
  • Military Band
  • Pipes and Drums Band
  • Competitive Marksmanship Team
  • Duke of Edinburgh
  • Scuba Diving
  • Canoeing
  • Kayaking
  • and many more…

Training is planned by the TrgO under the authority of the CO.  If you are a cadet and have any questions about the training, please speak to your star level instructors.
